CL Lady Hawk’s JV 2 Beat Eagle Pass Winn, 44-21

The CL Hawk’s JV 2 team improved their record to 3-2 after taking care of Eagle Pass Winn last Tuesday night at the Hawk Nest, 44-21.

CL had two ladies score in double digits when Shelbie Murphy had 14 and Briana Ramos finished with 12 points for the night.

“I am always looking for an open girl and as this season continues we are getting a lot stronger,” Ramos contributed. Ramos was talking on how well this team is starting to move without the ball and getting more used to the offense.

This game would never be in doubt after jumping out to a 7 point lead in that first quarter, 11-4. That same Hawk defense would be one point better in the 2nd quarter after holding Mavericks to a 3 pointer while adding another 10 for the Hawks side of the scoreboard.

That 2nd Half would seal the deal when CL doubled EP to increase their lead to 22 points which would end up being one more point than the Mavericks scored for the evening.

Canyon Lake JV 2 team was relentless throughout the game with 15 steals and 12 assists. That will give a testament on how well the offense performed with those assists numbers and ditto the defense by adding up those steal’s numbers.

All but one Hawk recorded an assist while all of the Lady Hawks got in the scorebook with a rebound in this contest.

“A young group and they are doing a good job in transition,” Head JV 2 Coach Jimmy Chamberlin said. “This is a fun group to coach and they are athletic and very moldable.”

A good game for CL as they continue to work on being the best as the season continues.
