Lady Hawks Defense is Hard to Break in Win over Florence, 52-15

Canyon Lake Lady Hawks keep winning as they took care of Florence with another strong defensive effort, 52-15.

This was the 8th school that Canyon Lake has held their opponent to 30 or less points. Seven of those contests the opponent has finished with 20 or fewer points. There were two teams that did not reach double figure scoring.

CL was led in this battle with another double digit scoring night for Reagan Heun with 21 points and a newcomer to the double digit campaign for this season with Lainee Moses finishing with 13 points.

The Hawks hassled Florence with 23 steals on the night having Marley Carrizales winning this sweepstakes with 8 thefts. Chelsea Tschoepe had 6 and Moses stole 5 passes that was 19 of that 23 total.

Watching this team execute their defense continues to pay dividends at that one act keeps your opponent without an opportunity for a score while opening up chances for lay-ups on the other side of the hard-wood.

Tschoepe and Alexa Ramos both have 46 steals for the season as this combination with the added help of those other Hawks have wreaked havoc for opposing squads so far during this campaign.

Canyon Lake jumped out to a quick 8 point lead that was increased 14 points in the second quarter of play. The Hawks were not finished as they blanked Florence in the 3rd period as this game was out of reach and now has CL with a, 15-4 record.

Just two years has Canyon Lake had more victories in a year and those two teams was in 2009 when that group of ladies garnered 19 wins with the 2012 season finishing with 16 conquests.

Canyon Lake will be on the road this Friday when they travel to Randolph and their next home game coming December 15th before the Christmas Break.
