Hawk Track: Career All-Time Top 10 & Season Totals

Canyon Lake’s Track teams have not finished below 2nd place yet for this season and The ReSporter wanted to show the All-Time Top Ten scorers and this year’s point totals.

There have been several Personal Records (PR) as the meets have commenced and both Coaches are juxtaposing athletes in many different events to surmise just what are those strengths and weaknesses.
The Hawks are in a district that has a perennial powerhouse with Fredericksburg who will always have a strong contingent of students participating.
Track & Field is not won by those athletes that finish first but points add up with those 2 through 6 place finishers. The Billies have a plethora of students that helps give them enough to score points at an alarming rates.
Canyon Lake is starting to get closer in matching that participation rate that can be a factor in how this might be a battle for which school reaches the top of the heap.
Caimen McDonough has not lost an event this season and scored 45 points last week which was more that 3 schools had amassed for that day.
For the ladies, CL has 3 or 4 athletes that are capable of giving the Hawks 18-30 points per meet.

Audrey Schulze has started with a bang this year while Alysha Perez and Madison Churbe start to get their short distance events into shape. Then, you have Skylar Hurst who passed Bailey Drum last year as the all-time scorer and that record will be increased with each week.
Hurst was in full bloom last week when she led CL with 30 points and that will certainly be a given each week for this young lady.
What a difference a year makes as the Hawks outperformed their times, throws and jumps from last season when they ran in the Lobo Relays. They had 8 schools at the Lobo Relays and the top Schools are below.
The Lady Hawks improved 100 points while the CL Boys improved 40 points and a 2nd place finish.
