Soccer will take center stage this week as both the Girls and Boy’s teams will be playing their final district contest on Tuesday against Fredericksburg. CL’s Girls will be hosting the Billies while the Boys depart for Fredericksburg.
This willl be a seeding game for the girls while the Boys team is taking the 3rd seed as both clubs will be entered into the playoffs.
With these two Soccer teams qualifying for the post-season, has this year being on top for Canyon Lake, as each team sport has qualified as the Baseball and Softball clubs just started their district races in hopes of following those previous Hawk’s that have qualified for the playoffs.
Baseball has put together a winning record going into District 28-4A play and will have their 2nd contest against Boerne at home this Tuesday. The Greyhounds won the first meeting last week as they got separation in their final at bat to put the game away.
Before that inning, the State Ranked Greyhounds were in a battle with the Hawks and now the 2nd game will see if those tables might be able to go in CL’s favor.
Softball will have their opening district game this Friday as they will take the field in Boerne for their first district contest.
Softball has a losing record with many of those losses at the hands of larger schools which will hopefully pay dividends as Canyon Lake starts their round-robin action.
Track & Field will be back this week, when Canyon Lake takes more than 4 turns heading across the Back-Bone to Wimberley. The Texan Relays will show just where both of the boys and girls stand after their Spring Break.
Wimberley was the winner when these two schools met at the Hawk Relays to start Track Season. With more practice and meets this will be a chance to get back in step as the District Meet will be hosted by CL in April.
Not a far drive to see this group of athletes show how well they will go into a tough district where Fredericksburg has been a mainstay for any other school trying to match their depth and points.
Go Hawks!!
