            ======================================================

May 5th Don’t Miss Crawfish Boil Hawk Fundraiser.

Canyon Lake’s Track & Field teams came home from Kingsville with a disappointing end to their season, but the bigger picture was seeing how far this sport has come in the grander scheme.

Winning District on the Boys side and the Ladies having won 3 Meets during the season will attest to that logic. PR’s were common place throughout the year and thus an end to a very successful season.

DQ was a much too common occurrence for Relay and some of our athletes costing both teams valuable points. Plus the simple fact that this Meet has the best athletes over Region 4, covering a land size of several individual States across the nation (mostly the East Coast).

On the positive side of this past week, both Softball and Baseball will continue into the month of May with some exciting contests for the Hawk Nation.

Baseball enters this stage of the year for the first time since 2010 when that team made the 2nd round of playoffs and just missed going to the next round against a talented Hidalgo School.

              Go, Go, Go Hawks!!

CL’s Baseball crew won their last game with Bandera, 8-5 and will now prepare to meet a common foe in the Wimberley Texans.

There will be a one-game playoff this coming Thursday at the Hawk Nest starting at 7:00pm. Baseball is one sport that has so many different variables entered into an equation that predicting an outcome can many times miss the mark.

Wimberley has had the upper hand this season but on any evening the final outcome has the potential to have a surprise finish. The Lake will certainly be the underdog in this fight but if that dog is a Jack Russell, then it really does not matter the size of an opponent you have coming to take a bite at you.

Softball is a Bi-District Champ for the first time and will have their next tilt against Sealy from District 26-4A.

Canyon Lake won their two games against Navarro last week by one run for each battle. CL will have an exciting time again this week as that seems to be the motif for this group of Ladies when they take the field.

As of this writing, the games for this week have not been set and this site will be updated as soon as that information is brought forth.

Freedom Mail Center says Let’s Go Hawks!

This is new ground for Canyon Lake as there will be two teams still in action for a month that is usually reserved for Graduation. But there are still some Hawk Seniors that will be hoping for some more tilts as they close out their athletic careers.

The ReSporter will have a Top 15 top sporting events of this past school year as soon as these two remaining teams bow out of their Post-Season run. It would not hurt anyone’s feelings if that Top 15 countdown does not commence until later in May.

Go Hawks and Beat the Texans and Tigers!!!
