As the year starts to wind down, Canyon Lake will be having their last big week with the District 28-4A Track & Field Meet commencing on Wednesday with prelim running events while the Field part of the group will be in competition for real on that first day. Thursday will finish the 2 day meet for final district standings.

Fredericksburg has won every year the Hawks have shared the same district with the Billies and this could be the Hawks best chance to stop that run. (pardon the pun)

CL’s Track & Field teams have had a very successful season thus far as both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams have won their share of Meets this year. Yes, both Boys and Girls have been on top of the heap with both JV teams having multiple championships, the Boys jV winning 3 meets and the Girls JV won 2 this Spring.

Varsity T&F had the Ladies with 3 and Boys 2 top finishes and only the JV Boys had a finish below 3rd place when they placed 5th in their last meet at Lockhart. That evening had Canyon Lake moving many of those JV athletes to Varsity since all the Spring Sports were in action that evening eroding the number of available participants. Helping cause that lower finish.

                          Go Hawks!!

Hawk Baseball made great strides this past week with a win over Bandera last Friday, that puts them with a chance of winning their 3 game series this Tuesday, on the road to Bulldog Country. A victory would go a long way of clinching a spot for more baseball.

Every Hawk team has at least two years of experiencing playoff action except for the Baseball group of players. Their last time in that forum of the lime-light was during their 2010 season, when they did become the first Hawk sport to win a first round Bi-District game.

In fact, that group of players took a very good Hildago School to the brink, up to the last inning in the 3rd game for a chance of making that next step up a playoff ladder.

The Softball Ladies have an inside track in realizing a District 28-4A Championship, as they will start their 2nd round of games against Boerne this Tuesday.

          Let’s Go Canyon Lake!!

This game will be Broadcast on Live Stream by CLB which you can access on this site.

CL’s Softball crew have experienced a power surge as Bailey Bryan has homered in each district contest and in their last game had two other Lady Hawk’s joining that Homer Club.

Softball will end this week on the road in Hondo, as this season goes into their final two weeks of action. Canyon Lake has already clinched a playoff spot and will now work on improving their seeding when that real part of the season gets going.

Busy Week for Canyon Lake and a chance to see some fun sports starting this Tuesday when Boerne comes to town for a softball showdown.

Go Hawks!!
