Canyon Lake could not get their footing in a loss to 4th Ranked Liberty Hill Panthers, 47-0.

Go Hawks Beat the Blue Jays!

The Hawks knew this would be a long night after finding out they would be transported to Liberty Hill on an ambulance as the walking wounded would be no match for this well oiled Panther machine.

“I am proud and happy on how our guys did not give up in playing a state ranked team on the road,” Head Coach Charley Drum said in retrospect. “We will have to get better for next week but we have Seniors that have played a lot of playoff games and this is no different from going from non-district to district games during the season as next week we will all be 0-0 just like every other team again.”

The Hawks have been in this situation before after losing to Navarro, 62-0 In their last 2013 game. Then surprising Pleasanton that next week in the first round and a school that finished their regular season with a 9-1 record.

There should be some reinforcements returning to the roster which will help in getting this season back on track for next week’s game.

Liberty Hill would dominate both sides of the ball as CL’s offense could not penetrate the Panther defensive front.

Little positive things would be in order after holding this LH offense to their lowest total in District 14-4A Div I play, which would give some sign of better tomorrows when next week comes calling.

The Hawks will be a 3rd seed and will be suiting up for battle against Needville. A team that finished 2nd in District 13-4A behind Sealy Tigers.

Go Hawks Beat the Blue Jays!

This time of year is when a slot-t offense will have a better chance for a good outcome. There are not many teams that have played this style of game and that has shown to be an achilles heal for tougher schools.

That has been the saving grace for the last two seasons and CL will see if that will continue when they kick-off this next week.

This is the fun time of the year and CL will need to get back on track and then we will see if a Hawk can beat a Blue Jay.

Canyon Lake will face the Needville this Friday in Cuero with kick-off at 7:30pm.

The Lake had two scrimmages at that stadium and maybe some familiar surroundings will certainly help.

Great Season and now take this Blue Jays down!!

Go Hawks!!
