Happy Thanksgiving & Go Hawks!

The CL Hawks closed their Football season after a loss to Needville last Friday in Cuero.

This was the 3rd year in a row that your Hawks finished with a winning season and if you saw or heard the game you would have noticed the number of sub-varsity players that were able to get into game action during that contest.

It was a tough year for many Seniors that had injuries keeping them off the field of play. After the game, both teams had lined up for a congratulatory hand-shake and there were several players not in uniform that had not an opportunity to get into action. A lot of depth that the Hawks were not able to use to end the season.

Such is life, especially for this Sport but there were more of those, out for the season injuries, than at anytime the Hawks in the past 11 years of action.

Congratulations to all of the Football Players and giving your all for The Lake.

Now Basketball takes center stage and both girls and boys will have games this week before eating Turkey.

The Lady Hawks are still sitting with one win after a cancellation of a game last week. CL will be on the road for a Monday game in San Antonio agains Providence Catholic School, starting at 10am for this holiday week.

Providence Catholic sits with one win going into this battle with your Lady Hawks who will be back in action the next week traveling to Austin Reagan.

The Hawk Boy’s Team have lost two close games and will be scheduled for two games on Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, Fox Tech will be at the Hawk Nest for three Brunch Battles starting with the Freshman at 10am.

Junior Varsity and Varsity will follow with a chance of getting in the winning column for this Varsity crew and JV working on a two game winning streak.

This years Boy’s Basketball is a different style than previous years as the Hawks are pressing and have sped up their games. A two game average of 67 points per game will let you know this is not the same type of game plan from those earlier teams.

Brooks Academy will come to Canyon Lake next Tuesday after Thanksgiving with hopes of having the Hawk Varsity working on a 2-game winning streak.
