CL Hawks have cleared some hurdles that have, in past years, ruined many a year with losses and set backs.
This Hawk team had to clear those hurdles after they were raised to a higher degree in playing Boerne and Fredericksburg during the same week and having those battles on the road.
The Lake started district play with a home loss to Boerne and then another loss at Wimberley. That was not a good way to show off the best District 28-4A record going into this most important time of their schedule.
Now after a rejuvenated week, Canyon Lake will go into a stretch run, that has a home game with Wimberley on Friday and a chance in taking, first place Fredericksburg, if CL can continue a winning streak that can be sustained.
Keeping pace with the Billies would be the operable phrase with Freddie game with a last place Bandera team and then using their off day with a non-district opponent in Brownwood.
A Hawk win would be instrumental in giving this Hawk crew a chance to control their own destiny when Fredericksburg returns to the Hawk Nest to end the district season.
CL would go on the road to play Bandera that is sandwiched between the Texan’s and Billie’s battles.
Two home games and a road contest in Bandera gives your Hawks a best of all worlds scenarios in having a high seed when the Playoffs commence.
Congrats and Go Hawks!!
