Hawk Soccer Teams have Play-off Hopes in Games with Billies on Friday

Canyon Lake’s Soccer teams will be in action for their last regular season game this Friday when the Hawk Boys host Fredericksburg while the Ladies finish on the road in Billie Land.

Both teams have post-season aspirations with the Lady Hawks needing a win which will give CL the 4th place seed with both wins coming against the Billies. A loss will place this year’s edition without a chance for another game. This would be the first time in since the 2012 season the Girls have not gone to the post-season arena if they lose.
Cut and dry a win and their in and a loss having an early cleaning cleats day for this years team.
For the Boys, The Lake, has already clinched a berth for more games and will now have a different situation on where this year’s team might end up with seeding.
A win over Fredericksburg would give CL a 2nd seed and a loss would have the Hawks playing the 1st seed for District 27-4A which would be against Liberty Hill.
A loss would have Canyon Lake with a .500 mark but two losses to Wimberley would give the Texans the 3rd seed even if CL ties Freddie in their game on Friday.
The Texans would need a total collapse to not win their contest against Bandera. This Bulldog team is competitive, but have yet to win a district game this year. So, The ReSporter, has made all of the above projections with an assumption that Wimberley will come out on the winning side. For the Girls, that is not an issue as you can see on the Standings below…that the winner of that game is in.

So a loss or tie has a 4th seeded contest for the Hawk Boys with Lampasas on the horizon.
Both Hawk teams won their last outing with the Billies but now the ladies will have a tougher haul with that battle coming on the road while the Hawk Boys will need to take care of business at The Nest.
