It will be a pretty empty slate this week with the Track Teams not active until next week, when they go to an Area Meet at Liberty Hill.
But the Tracksters had some qualify and will be grinding it out in preparation.
Boy’s Soccer will take the Headline this week as this crew will be off to McAllen for their second venture of competing at the 4A Regional IV Tournament.
Canyon Lake will be matched with Gonzales for a 4pm start and will have an opportunity to play again on Saturday if they can pull off another upset. The Apache’s are a very polished outfit and your Hawks lost an earlier contest in a shoot-out after having a tied score, 1-1 in regulation.
Gonzales has just one loss and tie so far and will bring a strong contingent of fans. That is known based on CL’s last playoff win over this same school two years ago. The stands were packed with Apaches while having a few Hawks flying around above.
Boy’s Soccer will be playing their 2nd Sweet 16 battle and a win be an Elite 8 game for a chance of making the Final 4. A lot of new words for the Hawk Nation as this has been the high water mark for all the team sports that was blazed by the 2017 Boy’s Soccer contingent.
Good times and a chance of making history.
Baseball and Softball had crucial wins last Friday as both teams entered that night needing wins to keep their hopes alive for a play-off spot.
Softball is a week ahead of the Baseball team in games played and so their game had more urgency…and that was brought forth in beating Wimberley, 13-8 and will have this week to see if that victory in a bottle can continue.
Llano is first on Tuesday and then the District 28-4A front runners, Fredericksburg Billies, comes to town on Friday. Both games being at home can hopefully help in achieving a sweep and a chance for more games.
Baseball is finishing their first round of games and Bandera will finish this slate and a win will need to be on the docket for helping calm the waters and get this boat to the shoreline. Boerne will be at the Hawk Nest on Friday in a game that will start their 2nd round of district battles.
Lezli Milner and Parker Smith qualified for more golf at Regionals. What student would not want this type of sport, where taking off from school to play some links.
Smith fired a two round score of 180 & Milner finished her two rounds with a 190. Both will have a chance to advance and with some good weather enjoy the outdoors while their student-mates slave away in a closed in class-room.
Congrats and Let’s Go Soccer Hawks!!
