MVMS Learns a Hard Lesson in Loss to SVMS, 10-1

Mountain Valley found that baseball can be a cruel sport after blazing through their first 3 contests, that fourth and final game will not be in their frontal lobe if they know what is good for them in losing, 10-1 to Smithson Valley Middle School.
This loss put MV Hawks tied for first with SBMS & SVMS with 3-1 records.

MVMS started by scoring a run to start the game when Ty Sellers was hit by a pitch with two outs.
The SV Pitcher would become a wildcat for the rest of this inning when the next 3 Hawks coaxed two more walks (Brayden Welch & Hayden Baker) and Helijah Johnson would join the Hit the Batter club in this wild inning.
Now, going back to this inning, in having the bases loaded, MVMS missed a great opportunity to open the game out with a hit. That was not in the cards as that would be the last Hawks reaching base in the 1st inning. This inning had 5 players on base without a hit.
In what would be the only Hawk run for the game having Sellers crossing the plate via a wild pitch.
Smithson Valley answered in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 4 singles and leaving the bases loaded with that tying tally.
Mountain Valley got their first hit in the top of the 4th inning when Travis Parma’s hit, a flair just over the 3rd baseman’s head, gave the SVMS’ left fielder a throw out at home and cutting down what would be MV’s last chance for a lead.
That would be a certainly when Smithson Valley MS paraded 13 batters to the plate in scoring 8 runs and closing the door on this year’s MV Hawk baseball crew during the bottom of that same inning.

“This was a learning lesson,” Head Coach Raymond Amora stated. “Baseball can teach a lot of lesson, at soon as you get high….you get humbled….this game did not define the season as I am excited about these boys and they will get better and I can’t wait to see them perform next year when they enter high school.”
Coach Amora continued. “I told the players that this was the best baseball team we have ever had at Mountain Valley and we did not want to finish the season like this and there will be more games for them!”
Mountain Valley had a successful year and the Hawk Nation will see more good teams coming up and now a Summer will be the only thing that will separate these boys until their next season as a High School competitor.
