Volleyball’s Paige Bower Will Take Her Game to Temple College

Coach Paisley & Paige Bower after signing to play with Temple College.

Paige Bower will be taking her Volleyball Skills to Temple College this next Fall after signing her letter of intent on March 9th at the place Bower honed her craft, in the Hawk Gymnasium.

                    Way to Go Paige!!

“I decided to go the Junior College route because it will help me on the academic side,” Bower started. “When I visited I was able to practice with them (the team) and I was in the mind set that I had to be perfect.”

That would be a hard bar to clear for most athletes, but Ms. Bower had been a mainstay for 3 years with the Hawk’s Varsity, so high goals, would be a given.

This past season, Bower was All-District Academic and was voted on the District 28-4A, 2nd Team. This young lady was high on two Stat Categories for the Hawk’s Season & All-Time Lists.

The Coach sent me emails and has given me a work-out schedule and I will be following them on the internet….When I went, they (Temple College) was having a reunion party and they had a, get to know party, and there was quite a few girls there.”

Mariah Haight and Paige Bower still smiling after a long day of work.

What does that mean? “It means I will have to compete very hard for a chance to play but I like that challenge,” Bower said with confidence.

“My Mom is very happy for me,” Bower continued. “I will be the first one (in my family) to play a collegiate sport.”

On Bower’s journey, “I loved being at Canyon Lake and I had come from the New Braunfels district and I had a chance to show what I could do on the court…..Coach Paisley taught me to be strong on the mental side for both playing on the court and how to handle situations off the court.”

Bower continued, “Coach (Paisley) is very passion driven and a perfectionist, just like me and she (Paisley) taught me to not dwindle on my mistakes and to let it go.”

“Paige has goals to be the best she can be for her team,” Coach Paisley said. “She was driven to be the best blocker. She works hard at every position to be available for any situation. She was humble and always coachable…..We will miss her fun, loving spirit!!!”

Thanks for being a Hawk Paige!!

“I loved this community, it had a small town feel,” Bowers blocked. “Everyone was welcoming and it was just a very great school to go to.”

On what Paige’s words of advice for the younger players, “Just focus on what you want to do…don’t rely on others and follow your passions.”

Thanks for your hard work in the class room and volleyball arena, the Hawk Nation, hopes the best as you now reach for higher goals above the net!!

Congrats and Go Paige!!
