CL Hawks Freshman Take Care of The ‘Stangs Convincingly, 52-6
The Hawk Freshman brought their A Game to Canyon Lake’s High School Arena with a capsizing, 52-6 victory over the hapless Marble Falls Freshman.
Marble Falls first drive consisted of 3 plays for 1 yard….Grade for Defense? √ A
CL Freshman’s first drive consisted of 4 plays and moving 67 yards ending with a Ty Sellers 38 yard run. Grade for Offense? √ A
The Lake scored on every possession but one….an interception in the first quarter.
This game played like a 6-Man contest. In that venue, the dominant team will always let the punt go as many yards as possible without attempting to run it back. That allows the offense to gain more yardage on offense.
There were 6 different Hawks that scored with 5 crossing the goal line on running plays and 1 Hawk going over the goal line by those Friendly Skies route.
Ty Sellers: 38 yard run. 8-0 Hawks Shayne Moss: 5 yard run. 16-0 Hawks Chase Anderson: 16 yard pass. 24-0 Hawks Ethan Schedlbauer: 5 yard run. 32-0 Hawks Helijah Johnson: 4 yard run. 40-0 Hawks River Hand: 1 yard run. 46-0 Hawks Cole Casen: 48 yard run. 52-0 Hawks
You get the idea, this Freshman team has only been tied as their only set-back during their Middle School years and now would like to continue this streak with a good start against Marble Falls.
That tie? How bout a rainy night tie to Smithson Valley Middle School that had this group out gaining those Rangers on that night.
A first with twins throwing and catching a ball that, of course, was another score. Anderson to Anderson. Hunter to Chase….The ReSporter wonders which Anderson was born first.
That fact will certainly be known as the Hawk Nation will have a good 4 years to relish in a team that might re-writing some of those Hawk All-Time records.
Cole Casen took the rock for 120 yards with his final run going for half a football field and eventually the last Hawk score. A 24 yard average per carry was one of those many Hawks that dominated on both sides of the ball.
“I just played hard and we came out ready and with intensity and we never wanted to let up,” Casen said with resilience. “They were physical but all of our lineman did their jobs and blocked the heck out those dudes.”
A Defense led by Helijah Johnson throwing Mustangs around like they were a Unicorn and take your pick of a Hawk that would control in this win.
This Freshman team will take the field next week after the Gold game against Weiss team in hopes of continuing beating and blocking the heck out more dudes!
Go Hawks!!
