CL Hawks Lose to Poth, 3-1 & Look for Improvement in Rattler Tourney
Canyon Lake Volleyball could get over the hump in loss to the Poth Pirates on Tuesday night losing, 17-25, 25-17, 22-25 and 21-25.
The Hawks could not replicate that 2nd Set that had a convincing, control all the facets, in a V-Ball game in dominating the net and covering all the court in their receive game.
“They are a good team,” Head Coach Kim Clemons assessed. “We did not play good and our people were off…they had a blank stare and were not fully focused.”
On the play during that 2nd Set, “We are excited when we are doing well but we are not digging in when we get behind.”
Megan Vorhis led CL with 13 kills followed by Caroline Kullberg who totaled 10 on this night. Lainee Moses (21 digs) and Cassidy Felps (21 assists) led The Lake in those categories.
Canyon Lake will not have a lot of time to work on their ‘digging in’ as they will compete in the Rattler Tournament that starts on Thursday and continues Saturday. The Hawks will be on the road at Austin Akins on Friday giving you an idea of how full a plate that has been served.
Still looking for consistency during this Pre-District slate with a goal of putting their game together as 29-4A District starts up in a month.
Go Hawks!!
