Volleyball: CL Hawks Beat Blanco, 3-1
Canyon Lake Volleyball welcomed Blanco into the Hawk Nest and sent the Panthers home on the short end of the stick after a, 3-1 Win, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.
The Hawks started slow but picked up their game after winning their last three sets as The Lake now stands 12-12 for the season.
“I thought our intensity was up and down but we maintained a focus to finish,” Head Coach Kim Clemons said. “With the distractions of the 1st week of school and beating Johnson City in 5 and Blanco in 4, both great teams and programs…it was a Great week!”
Canyon Lake will hope to keep this streak going as district will be knocking on their door before you know it.
“These two matches will give us something to keep building on leading towards district,” Coach Clemons assessed.
A young team that continues to work on different aspects of their game and can hope to continue to work on getting a finished product on the court.
“We have been doing a ton of fundamentals and being very specific on our defensive drills,” Coach coached. “Along with our Offensive/setting drills which is developing our whole team and younger players nicely!”
Canyon Lake finished this week taking care of two storied 3A programs and will need to up their game to another level as larger schools will be next.
The Hawks will be in action this Tuesday at Austin Crockett and then will welcome San Antonio Judson to the Hawks Nest on Friday. Both games will start with the Sub-Varsity at 5pm with the Varsity next up on the food chain.
