Football: Canyon Lake Freshman Beat down Panthers, 44-6

Linebacker Cole Casen puts finishing touches to Panthers in win, 44-6.

The Canyon Lake Hawks Freshman continued their unabashed trip through their schedule with another walloping coming to the Blanco Panthers Junior Varsity, 44-6.

            Way to Go Hawks!!

This was the first road game of the year and not much changed in the dominance factor as this Hawk Squad continues to score multiple points with a minimal amount of plays with their offense.

This was the 2nd game in a row with 12 offensive plays resulting with an impressive 24 plays and 94 points in these past two week’s of action. Right at 4 points scored with each snap of the ball can make it hard for opposition to keep up that torrid pace.

A 64 yard run from Helijah Johnson, Ty Sellers with a 23 yard jaunt, Cole Casen 33 yards and a 65 yard kick-off return to start the 2nd half from Hunter Anderson would deflate any air in these Panthers coming out of their, ’let’s get it going in the 2nd half’ speech for those Blanco Coaches.

That dominance starts with the trenches and the ReSporter caught up with Gabriel Geving, “We are staying focused and staying at this time of the year on looking to keep improving.”

“We are starting to condition a lot more,” Geving continued. “We want to be more focused like we were at the beginning of this year as we get ready for district.”

Adrian Duque and Gabriel Geving after another convincing win.

This seems to be a common word for CL’s Freshman as that work Focus is becoming a cultural implementation for this improving team.

Linebacker, Adrian Duque has been one of many Hawks in keeping opposing teams from running rough shod on the field in giving up an average of one offensive touchdown per game.

“We are building up with every single win,” Duque quipped. “We are wanting to keep our new streak alive. And we continue to be sprinting and putting 100% into every practice.”

Blanco did have some success with their one scoring drive and on the defensive drive being able to have the Hawks offense punt. That would be the 2nd punt this season for this Freshman crew and improvement was seen in this part of the contest in not allowing that punt to go for a Touchdown.

                    Go Hawks!!

CL has given up 31 points from those offensive units and 20 points from ‘other’ which would come from fumble, kick-off, and punt returns. (All from the same team)

Averaging 40.4 points per game with a bye week before this crew goes for their 3rd District Championship in a row when the Taylor Ducks come flying in to see if they can take advantage of Canyon’s Lake. But at this stage of the season, Canyon Lake’s might be too rough for these Ducks.

Way to Go Freshman Hawks!!
