Maddy Puente has 3 doubles, that has her #1 with 28 all-time in her career.

Canyon Lake started their season in rough waters finishing their first tournament with a 1-5 record against 5A and 6A schools.

CL was 0fer from this same venue last year and will be using this tournament as a starting point in finding what needs to be worked on as this campaign will begin having more likeness with schools being closer to the same number of students.

Maddy Puente was able to rap out 3 doubles in this set of games that put her as the all-time double hitter with 28.

                Let’s Go Hawks!!

Maddy Puente was in the circle for the only Hawk victory after a comeback win with 3 runs in the last inning for this one run win over Seguin, 6-5.

That game had The Lake stake out a 3 run advantage after that first inning but a Matador 4 runs during the 3rd and 4th inning had Canyon Lake needing 3 runs for a win.

Maddy Puente and Riley Millhouse-Glenn were the two Hawks that led the team with 2 hits a piece.

Riley stated that inning with a lead-off single that was followed by a double off the bat from Maddy Puente that scored and still had CL needing two more runs for a win.

Jessie Melendez sacrificed the tying run (Puente) to 3rd base with one out. Emma Lane was quick with her response with a line-drive single to centerfield that plated the tying run and new life for the Hawks.

Kenzie Sayles was able to advance Lane to 2nd base with her ground-out to the first baseman that ended with an error and score for the win from that same Seguin player while Kay Puente was ready to bat.

              Way to Go Hawks!!

The Hawks will be playing Marble Falls on Tuesday at the Hawk Nest for their first home game. A good chance to fill the stands and show your support for this year’s Softball Team.
