“Burnet was strong at the top of their lineup in both boys and girls divisions,” Coach Mickey started. “We swept the rest of their lineup.”

The Sophomore Trifecta with Colby Jackson, Travis Parma, and Tanner Adams.

Give the Hawk Nation a rundown of this year’s team, “We are led on the girls side by Seniors Haley Gallagher and Ella Moore and they are our girls #1 and #2 respectively and both 4 year CLHS players. Our 3-4-5 spots include Sophomore Cecilia LaLonde, Isabella Smith and Harley Jackson and they have made great strides in the off-season, they all attended summer camps at Spring Branch Tennis Center and it shows. Sophomore Gweneth McCutchin and Freshman Joey Royer rounded out the girls lineup versus Burnet.”

What about the boys? Coach Mickey continued, “The Boys are led by Sophomore Colby Jackson #1 and a couple of guys are competing for the #2 & 3 spots, including Senior Shawn Bell and Junior Zachary Elson. Senior Gabriel Lara and two Sophomores, Tanner Adams and Travis Parma are competing for the 4-5-6 spots in the lineup. Both Tanner (Adams) and Travis (Parma) have improved tremendously since last season.”

Give us your overall take after those first matche, “Overall, I am very proud of our varsity opening

match. We competed hard and showed great teamwork and communication on the court and our doubles matches. We will need to work on minimizing double faults and unforced errors. I am hoping to get several other Junior Varsity players to join us once school starts so we have enough to fill out a JV roster and to build the program for upcoming years.”

The Hawks will be back in action on September 1st when Davenport comes to the Hawk Nest with first serve starting at 4pm.

Thanks Coach and Congratulations!
