The Hawk Volleyball team swept the Smithville Tigers on Friday night as CL reached 5 wins for the year and await their next home game against Johnson City this Tuesday.

After a, 25-17 first set win, this Tiger team made Canyon Lake earn those final two sets for this sweep, 27-25 and 27-25.

               Way to Go Hawks!!

“I am very proud of this team,” Head Coach Kim Clemons started. “Give Smithville some credit as they were a very scrappy team and it took a lot for us to keep them out of their system. We had some good serve-receive and that has been good during this season.”

Canyon Lake was missing some players and Macie Goodson came in to take the middle position and led CL with 4 aces. “I told Macie Goodson to have fun and our team played hard and fired up. We had some awesome defensive plays and we stepped up.”

Hannah Harrison helped by leading the team with 9 kills from the outside and Kaylee Moore continued her strong play as the libero helping the Hawks with 25 digs.

Canyon Lake will take their 5-4 season record in a match against a very tough Johnson City team. JC beat Poth, 3-1 earlier this year which Canyon Lake beat, 3-2 last Tuesday.

“Johnson City is a good team,” Coach Clemons said. “We are going to have to play down and get gritty and just play together. We struggled with certain points but we fixed those shortcomings immediately.”

                Let’s Go Hawks!!

CL’s Sub-Varsity will have their first serve at 5pm and then the Varsity will get going with a 6pm game time.
