Canyon City Grill says Go Hawks!

Another down week when you compare wins to losses for both Volleyball and Football this past week. 

The Hawk JV football team did beat Austin LBJ by a good margin, 41-0 but all those other contests ended with losses.

Volleyball will start their 2nd round of competition and are one game ahead of Fredericksburg who CL will face on Tuesday on the road. 

Beating Fredericksburg in the first round was CL’s only district victory and a win in Bille Land would go a long way in securing a berth for a post-season season. FHS would have to beat 3 other teams and Hawks lose the rest of their district games since a Canyon Lake victory would give them the tie-breaker.

CL’s football will be looking for their first win in District 13-4A this week against Taylor on Friday and a Homecoming night.

A good run against Austin LBJ last week and with more improvement and reducing those pesky turnovers will hopefully get the Hawks back on path as the district race is just getting started.

CL’s Junior Varsity is on a 5 game winning streak as both them and the Freshman will be on the road on Thursday in Taylor and a chance to get wins.

Cross Country will have an early start with a 6am run in San Antonio.
