The Canyon Lake Hawk’s Boys Soccer secured their 4th win of the season with a solid win over the Eagles last Tuesday night in Pleasanton, 4-0.

Alex Gracia scored with 11 minutes into the first half which would be the same score going into intermission. That was Gracia scored 2 goals in the game and now has 5 scores this season as The Lake will now bring a 4-1-3 record back to the Hawk Nest this Friday when Gonzales comes to town.

The second half was met with a Josh Sczech goal 8 minutes after starting the second stanza which had CL up, 2-0 and Goalie Shawn Bell with 6 saves continues his strong start this year with his 4th shut-out as the Hawk defense held strong the entire game.

Sczech leads Canyon Lake with 6 goals so far this year.

Xavier Espinosa’s had a key header off the goal line that helped preserve and keep the Eagles scoreless for this game.

The Hawks out shot Pleasanton with 15 shots on goal compared to the Host’s 8 in this battle.

Canyon Lake will be back home this Friday after a 3 game road trip against Gonzales which has had some tough battles in the past 3 years.

The Apache’s were beaten by CL each year the Hawks went to Harlingen for the Region 4 tournament with that last game two years ago stamping a ticket to the Final Four.

That game was won as the clock ran out on a corner kick that sent Canyon Lake further than any other team sport in post-season play since the Hawk’s started playing back in 2008.

This will be CL’s final bout before District 26-4A kicks off on Tuesday February 9th.

Let’s Go Hawks!!
