Luke Roskin’s No-No Highlights CL Green Win over Bandera JV, 15-0

Luke Roskin was in a zone while pitching a no-hitter in win over Bandera.

Canyon Lake Green rode a great pitching performance by Luke Roskin who threw a No-No while The Lake scored in every inning for this, 15-0 win over Bandera.

Junior Varsity games will many times have certain areas of a game that can get a win and many times it will not involve hits.

              Way to Go Hawks!!

Pitchers can throw too many walks or a team will take the field and forget their gloves.

In this win, CL did not face a pitcher that walked batters (Chambers only gave up 3 base on balls) but it was the Bulldogs defense that kept rally’s going after surrendering 9 errors in this contest.

The main headliner however was that no-hitter thrown by Roskin who missed a perfect game in giving up one walk.

When asked bout his no-hitter Roskin said, “Wow, I didn’t even know that I had not given up a hit. I just felt really good and felt like I was throwing really hard. It was one of my best performance on the mound.”

That no-no did have some help when third baseman Zach Elson was able to get a slow roller and make a nice play by firing the ball to first base to get the batter in that 3rd inning.

On the hitting side, Gage Gibbons had two hits with a double in the mix while leading the team with 3 rbi and scoring 3 runs. All done as the 9th batter in the batting order.

               Let’s Go Hawks!!

Another stat which left the Hawks plates clean was leaving just one base runner on base after surrendering their third out. A feat that usually relies on a team not having any baserunners which certainly was not the case in this 5 inning affair.

On the defensive side of the ball, CLJV finished with 4 errors for a game that Roskin retired 13 batters via a strikeout. Leaving only two outs needed by using a glove.

Another sign that might need a little work as this Junior Varsity squad continues to learn as they go through district now with a 3-2-1 record.

CL Green will be back in action on April 7th with first pitch at 7:30pm against the Austin Waves at the Hawk Nest.

Keep it Up Hawks!!
