Hawk’s Volleyball Win 5 Set Match over Cuero
It took five sets but Canyon Lake was able to keep their undefeated record in tact winning their 9th straight over the Gobblerrs, 25-23, 22-25, 25=22. 21-25, and 15-10.
“The girls played hard and played together,” Coach Hayley Melone rapped. “They did a great job staying positive and moving forward when mistakes were made. We played better defense and communication on our side of the court. We had a ton of great plays that our team built and kept the momentum! This match was a great conditioning tool for us mentally and physically moving towards district play.”
Coach Melone was put in charge as Head Coach Kim Clemons was biting her fingernails while guaranteeing at her home.
Olivia Robinson led the team with 14 kills while Maddie Oberholtzer chipped in with 28 digs for the Hawks.
It was an every other game as each school alternated who would win with the good news being the Hawks winning first.
CL is on their last two weeks of non-district battles and these games will help with focus when district gets into gear.
Hannah Harrison was huge with 5 aces while being joined by Emily Pena in sharing the most assists with 22 a piece.
Canyon Lake will be on the road at Ingram Moore this Friday as they continue to count down district play.
