Hawk Sports Recap & This Week @ Canyon Lake

                        Canyon Lake starts important week for seeing how they stack up with District 28-4A foes.

As the Spring Sports begin to get their feet, The ReSporter will start a recap week and a look ahead so those interested fans can keep updated on how and when CL Sports will be in action.

Basketball has both teams engulfed in District 28-4A play with the Ladies a full week ahead of the CL Boy’s Varsity.

Both teams will be fighting for a chance of continuing their season in the post-season but need to take care of business in taking down at least two schools in order to get a 4th seed.

For the Ladies, The Lake, will need to highlight Bandera and Davenport on their to-do list for wins. This district is loaded with 3 teams (2 which are state ranked) which leaves 3 schools in a fight for that 4th spot.

CL Ladies Basketball next two games this week will give an indication if making a playoff spot a reality by sweeping the Bulldogs and Davenport and giving this young team an inside track as the next round of district games start the next week.

For CL’s Boys Basketball, their chances will be similar with one school changing in that 3 way team chance of punching a ticket for Play-Off T-Shirts.

Bandera will switch out and Fredericksburg will be added with Davenport sharing with the Hawks in both scenarios in battling it out for a play-off spot.

Fredericksburg will be a higher hurdle for the Hawk Boys to clear for a chance of qualifying for a playoff spot.

Canyon Lake’s Baseball team is ranked 14th in the THSB (Texas High School Baseball) Pre-Season Top 20 Poll which also had Boerne getting an 8th place spot in this ranking.

Baseball also has Sinton (ranked #1) and Calallen (ranked 2nd) on their schedule which looks to be a fun upcoming season.

Both Soccer teams are in full swing right now with CL Boys with an, 1-3-1 record and the Ladies sporting a 3-4 record.
