CL Hawk’s Softball On Hit Parade Winning 3 at Navarro

Canyon Lake Lady Hawks took flight on their first day of tournament play in Navarro after taking down 3 teams with some insane hitting with Lehman, Eagle Pass Winn and Marion taking those hits.
Way to GO Lady HAWKS!!
The Lake ran their record to 4-0 in this young season and will have two games on Friday against Navarro and SA Lee.
CL has a couple of players who are presently playing T-Ball with Gabby Barnes taking the spotlight after hitting 3 home runs, 2 doubles and one triple. Ohhhh, don’t forget a single (her first of the year) as this young lady sports 10 jots and have 9 of those being for extra bases.
Barnes has a 2,000 slugging percentage which would be described as crypto currency at the local Security Bank in Canyon Lake.
The Hawk hitting had EMS called on for administering aid to the battered balls.
Canyon Lake jumped out to a 7-1 lead in their morning contest with Lehman and then the hits kept coming when Eagle Pass Winn witnessed 3 home runs with Barnes (2) and Shelby Porter getting into the act joining Barnes on this hit parade.
Riley Glenn-Millhouse also had an impressive day batting .600, scoring 5 runs, 6 hits, 4 rbi’s and 3 of those hits classified as doubles.
Canyon Lake had 3 different ladies in the circle with a win. Barnes was first followed by an impressive outing for Rianna Gonzales that was followed by Aubrey Long who came into that final contest as a reliever for 2 innings and the Hawks 3rd victory for the day.
Keep it up Hawks!!
Don’t forget Alysa Johnson while batting in the 9 hole was no slouch batting .571, scoring 4 runs and hitting a double and triple for her day of work.
P.S. Gonzales contributed with 5 hits and a .555 average while also pitching in (pardon the pun) with a double and triple.
Suffice to say, Canyon Lake was so hot the fans from other teams congregated at the diamond CL was on simply to warm up as the day started to see the temperature starting to drop.
“My swing is loose and I’m relaxing and good things just happen,” Gabby ‘Babe’ Barnes surmised.
Gabby Barnes needs more room for carrying those home-run balls.
Emma Lane’s bat has not awakened yet but her fielding was spot on in throwing out 6 batters on the day with 3 of those throws was in the same inning. A feat that does not happen often it at all. The ReSporter has seen countless innings in that was a first.
“This is an uplifting team and we had some key pieces that has brought us together,” Lane said like Johnny Bench. “We are playing our hearts out for every game.”
That was certainly evident after seeing Canyon Lake score 6 runs in their final inning against Marion that turned a 2 run deficit to a, 10-6 win while running out the clock for a sweeping day of Softball.
Good Times as CL will be working on continuing their hit parade as long as they can watch where they step while following those horses.
