CL Hawks Take Series & Sweeps Bandera, 12-0

Canyon Lake stayed within one game of frontrunners Boerne and Wimberley going into their last week of District 28-4A play after run ruling Bandera, 12-0 in five innings.
Keep it up Hawks and Finish strong & don’t forget to vote in May for runoff.
The Anderson Twins got things going as these two continued their hot bats with 3 hits a piece setting the table with all the fixins being responsible for 5 of the runs in this blow out win.
Chase Anderson has a 3 game hitting streak with those 3 outings stroking 3 hits each and that resulted in a lofty .750 average. Not a bad lead-off hitter. Chase now leads the team in hitting (.476) as he continues with a season record 40 hits. It has also jettisoned Chase (81) to #1 in all-time hits passing Travis Walker’s 80.
Griffen Williams had 3 rbi’s and he topped his record (38) from last season and now stands with 40 runs knocked in to date.
Canyon Lake scored their 12 runs during their first 4 frames and coasted with several players defensively and in the batter’s box.
The Lake will now embark into their final week of district play and needing a sweep over Davenport to have an outside chance of tying for the league championship. That can happen if the Wimberley & Boerne series has a split and then the abacas will be brought out from Cory Martelli’s lock box in figuring out how these 3 teams would be seeded for post-season.
If either of those two teams sweep then the Hawks would have the 2nd Seed and face District 27-4A’s 3rd Seed.
