Olivia Robinson and Mom (Helen) sharing a joyful moment at signing to play Volleyball at Concordia.

Olivia Robinson fulfilled a lifelong goal in signing to play Volleyball at Concordia Austin on her next phase of life.

               Hawk Proud!!

“Olivia filled a vital roll for us and she understands the importance of doing things right and she took care of business in high school,” Head Coach Kim Clemons said with conviction. “She not only excelled on the court but in the classroom as well and she has an 3.875 GPA and made the Academic All State and finished 8th overall.”

“This is a big deal,” Helen (Mom) Robinson said with emotion. “Very early on she has wanted to play long term and this has not been an easy path and it was not clear but it took a lot of tough love.”

Mom Robinson continued, “She surprised me when she told me she wanted to be a nurse and she recently had been shadowing me at work and when she decides what she wants to do then she does not deviate….a Doctor invited her to come up to the hospital and she took advantage of that opportunity.”

On playing volleyball close to home, “I played softball and Olivia watched me and wanted to play at an early age. She had offers from several out of state schools and I wanted her to go wherever she wanted but I am glad she chose a school closer to home.”

Olivia Robinson finished her high school career with some lofty numbers and finished in the Hawk Top 10 in Kills, Digs and Aces.

Olivia Robinson ready to take her next step at Concordia Austin in Volleyball.

Robinson will be one of several seniors that will be missed when next year comes calling.

“I worked hard in clinics and this August the Coach at Concordia saw me play at camp this season and said, ‘we would like you to come and join us in the fall.’”

“I liked the school for volleyball and their academics,” Robinson continued. “I started playing when I was 8 years old in the Y and CYC…I started playing club volleyball when I was 11, and this is a lifetime goal for me.”

On thoughts of her high school experience, “I enjoyed it here and Coach Clemons was a great roll model for me and the school has a small environment and it was a great place to learn and grow.”

Olivia Robinson will be ready for her next rung in life and the Hawk Nation will be watching her continue to make strides in Volleyball and life…Congrats and enjoy Concordia!!
