Canyon Lake’s big win last week will go a long way as the District 13-4A half-way mark commences this week and the standings show couplings with teams that have a chance to get an inside track for a good seeding or on a track that might be a train barreling down on two of these schools.

                      Way to Go Hawks!!

This week the loser of the Taylor vs. Marble Falls contest will be that proverbial team that will be looking at that said train with an, 0-3 record and either school still with some tough battles to come.

Davenport & Burnet will have a chance to play the spoiler by winning this week while catapulting into the thick of a dogfight during those final 3 weeks.

If the Wolves and Bulldogs both win then you would have a 4-way tie for first place and tie-breakers galore coming from the district office’s vault to do some deciphering.

With both of those schools coming out on the short end would set up the winner of that Duck/Mustang team in a 3 way tie for a 3rd or 4th seed.

Thusly the Hawks and Badgers could be duking it out the first part of November for a first or second seed for that upcoming post-season time of year.

What do we know?

                               Go Hawks!!

Davenport has a salty offense but a school that would need to outscore most upcoming match-ups based on a porous defense.

Lampasas looks to be the most balanced team on both sides of the ball. Canyon Lake has two common opponents with these Badgers (albeit one of those games was a Hawk scrimmage) and both schools being on the short end against Wimberley.

The Burnet Bulldogs can’t decide on which side of the bed to get up on with their defense coming to the rescue or offense making plays.

While the Ducks (3 game losing streak) and Mustangs (4 game losing streak) are both in a funk with one of those schools needing to find their mojo this week in hopes of making a final push as this season enters those final 3 weeks.

Go to this link, Team & Individual District Stats ,to see team & individual stats after the first two district contests. It should give you a better bearing on seeing what might happen as season comes to a close.

Canyon Lake will be on the road in Burnet and a chance to make a statement for a Senior class that would like nothing better for another chance to win a district championship.

Middle School: MVMS 7th A/B and 8th A/B teams winning GVAC Championships.
Canyon Lake: Freshman District Champions
Canyon Lake: Junior Varsity the past two season were District Champions.
Now a chance to complete that final goal….

Let’s GO HAWKS!!
