        ====================================================

Canyon Lake will enter post-season as a favorite against the 4th seeded Uvalde Coyotes.

A three stages of CL’s game is operating at optimal levels as these Hawks will enter this Friday game on a 6 game winning streak.

Part of that uptick comes from a defense that held all but one team below their opponents points per game average. It was against Boerne Champion that had CL’s defense not performing at their best. It was the 2nd game of the season which still has schools working out who is the best player in certain areas.

This year’s defense should get a lot of kudos in keeping their opponents with an average 8.1 points per 2nd half. That paired with CL’s 19 points in those last two quarters by the offense has allowed The Lake a chance to come back for wins.

                *Halftime *Final *Last two quarters
Wimberley 07-14 14-21 07-07
Champion 06-37 36-44 30-07
Veterans 06-14 28-31 22-17
East Central 06-03 20-10 14-07
Marble Falls 21-07 42-07 21-00
Davenport 23-21 38-35 15-14
Burnet 14-14 28-14 14-00

Lampasas 07–23 34-30 27-07
                   111-143 282-216 171-73
**Canyon Lake is the first set of #’s above.

You get the point…Canyon Lake has made a living in those final two periods to the chagrin of those in the Hawk Nation that might have heart problems.

          Go District Champ HAWKS!!

The Lake’s Offense has produced yards at break neck speed during those last two quarters and have averaged 470 yards per game during district play.

Special Teams has been a pleasant surprise after an Ethan Schedlbauer injury that had Jayden Van Ausdall come to the forefront has been successful on 24 of his 25 attempts and made his only field goal attempt. That field goal was the difference in the Hawks win over Davenport, 38-35.

Using Hunter Anderson as the punter puts pressure on opposing teams in not knowing there might be a pass or run which will result in fewer players back to help block for that return man.

                 Go Hawks & Beat Uvalde!!

The Uvalde Coyotes have averaged, 287 yards with a breakdown of 147 on the ground and 140 through the air. As balanced of an offense that a team could produce.

QB Brodie Carnes will take the snaps and has thrown for 1213 yards with 6 touchdowns. Carnes one weakness is throwing 9 interceptions.

These Coyotes have 4 different running backs with 272 yards rushing or more. Chris Rodriguez leads the these players with 7 touchdowns Jonathan Jimenez is tops with a 12.63 per carry average.

Jimenez is 3rd as a receiver with 277 yards and 2 touchdowns with Jarrett Hernandez (34 receptions & 476 yards) and Devon Franklin (18 receptions & 281 yards) being the top two receivers for Uvalde.

GO HAWKS!!
