Scoreboard watching time as this year’s baseball season enters the last week of district competition and teams still jockeying for one of those 4 seeds for the post-season.

Let’s Go Hawks & Beat Bandera!!

Below, The ReSporter has CL’s and District 28 Standings and what the tea-leaves indicate what place a school might fall into.

Boerne has the 1st seed sewn up and Bandera will end the season in the 6th spot are givens for District 27-4A.

The rest of District 27-4A have yet to be cemented in, as these final two games, could sway a team in one or two different scenarios.

Canyon Lake needs just one win over the Bulldogs to lay a stake on that 2nd seed. A sweep for Bandera would have the Hawks needing Davenport to lose one or be swept by Fredericksburg to retain that 2nd seed.

Davenport has to sweep Freddie and combined with a Bandera sweep would then be placed as the 2nd seeded school.

The only way Wimberley can be slotted as a 3rd seed would have the Texans needing to sweep Boerne and hope the Wolves are also swept by the Billies.

                    Way to GO HAWKS!!

Fredericksburg only path to a 4th seed would take a sweep over Davenport and that would jettison Wimberley out of the post-season if they lost two playing Boerne.

Most likely, the seeding on how the schools are placed are on the standings below.

Clear as mud?

For the Bi-District round against District 28 would have Navarro as the probable 1st seed since their last series is against SA Memorial, a team that has just one win for the season, presently with a, 1-21 record.

If La Vernia can sweep SA Kennedy then they would be tied with Navarro which would place SA Kennedy as that 3rd seeded school.

Come see our Hawk Nation Room and Go Hawks!!

Just a reminder…the 1st seed plays a 4th seed and the 2nd seed is pitted against a 3rd seed so you can do your own jigsaw puzzle below.

Thusly you will have a Cuero vs. Gonzales match-up with the winner as the 4th seed and the other school not getting a dance card.

It there is a tie for 1st of 4th place then The ReSporter does not have a road map on which team has the right away for a higher seed. This district is not set-up like District 27 where each team played a 3 game set.

The ReSporter does have ideas of what might happen by comparing how each school performed against other schools.

Inside track would have the following Bi-District Battles:

          Boerne vs. Cuero
          CL Hawks vs. SA Kennedy
          Davenport vs. La Vernia
          Wimberley vs. Navarro

A side-note, Kennedy has all but one loss being a low scoring one run set-backs.

Let’s Go Hawks and time to Play Ball…
