Canyon Lake started playing like Canyon Lake in their win over Davenport, 11-3 on a short week due to Easter Celebration.

                    Let’s Go Hawks!!

Boerne has a 4 game separation as all the other District 27-4A squads are within 2 games of each other vying for that 2nd seed.

The Lake will be have a short one day break before the last game of this 3 game series at the Hawk Nest this Thursday with first pitch at 6:00pm.

This Hawk team has been in a funk since that first district loss to Fredericksburg and this win against Davenport was needed in so many ways and now has a chance of changing their persona.

With consistency CL can control their own destiny as district continues thru these next 3 plus weeks.

Offense:
Rapping 14 hits and having speed forcing two errors on Davy had the Hawks in total control with a, 7-2 lead after the first three innings of play.

                  Way to Go Hawks!!

With 4 players with 2 or more hits had Chase Anderson (3 hits), Carter Williams, Hunter Anderson, and Hayden Baker finishing with 2 each.

Power: Carter Williams’ 2 run homer and three doubles off the bats of Chase Anderson, Travis Parma and Brayden Welch.

On Base Percentage was in style when power hitter Griffin Williams came to plate as the Wolves walked him 3 times and of course his single added to that parade.

Both Hunter and Griffin has reached base in their last 18 games and the Anderson Brother’s both have 9 game hitting streaks.

Time for some Ice Cream HAWKS!!

Fielding: A diving catch during those early innings by right fielder Ty Sellers was a highlight reel while first baseman Griffen Williams showed off his speed with two (in particular) catches in foul territory which kept Davenport batter’s heading back to their dugout.

Pitching? Yeah, that was on display too with Hunter Anderson gave up one earned run in his 5 innings of work which was a continuation of his last game when he struck out 10 in that extra inning win over Freddie.

Luke Roskin pulled off the Wolves’ mask in those last two frames allowing all those young ladies to actually make their visit to Grand-Ma’s house for a Happy Easter Celebration.

Seeing consistency will be that intangible on Thursday with a chance to stack momentum more wins.

Way to Go Hawks!!
