CL Baseball’s Travis Parma Signs with Ranger College
Canyon Lake’s 2023 Seniors were not finished adding the most students to college with a sports scholarship.
Travis Parma signed to play baseball to Ranger College which now has a total number of 10 former Hawk athletes to sign this year. Baseball matched football with 3 signings each.
“I was looking at some schools like Angelina JC and then I got an invite to visit Ranger for a tryout,” Parma said while responding on how he ended up picking this college. “I thought I had done really well and one week later I got the offer.”
On what type of workout? “They had two rounds of eight pitches and there was some good competition… but I was just hitting good with some line drives and they said they really liked what they saw.”
Parma was not finished tho as he would also need to show off his fielding, “On defense I felt felt good too…it was good day all-together.”
Parma continued, “They said they wanted to see a better arm strength with my throws to first-base so I will obviously work harder with my Dad to develop that part of my game the rest of this summer.”
On thoughts bout signing, “Baseball has been the sport I have liked the most and it is amazing that I will now have a chance to continue my dream. I want to thank my Dad because he has been my coach and mentor since day one and it is pretty cool that I will be playing at the same college that my dad played.”
Parma will go down as the Hawk athlete that played the most sports at The-Lake counting baseball he also played basketball-football-tennis-soccer he competed in while at high school.
But Parma’s parents (Chad & Cassie) and brother (Ben) will be following Travis in baseball, as this sport, was his passion. As this season continued, Parma batted .333 with 2 doubles during CL’s recent playoff run as his game continued to improve.
Now making good decisions in life will become paramount in life as that will make those choices made in defining this young man’s future!
Thanks Travis and make the Hawk Nation proud!
