       ==================================================

                           GO HAWKS!!

Canyon Lake will be celebrating their Homecoming this Thursday and it will finish their top-heavy schedule playing larger schools.

East Central (1-3) has a matching record after winning their first game last week against Del Rio, 27-00 while CL enters this contest on a 2 game losing streak.

Looking at the rest of this year’s district brethren it can be deduced that the Hawks played the better or harder schedule which reflects on the standings above.

Yes, many district teams played larger schools but an, 0-3  5A school would not compare to a 4-0 5A school or for that matter a, 4-0  4A squad.

                                 Go Hawks!!

Two of the schools (Wimberley & Champion) that CL played are still without a loss.

Lampasas played 4 games against schools sporting a, 5-10 record as of last week and will have a tough time in their next battle against Wimberley.

Burnet will finish non-district against a 3A Early team and they are tied with CL and MFalls who all three have teams with, 11-5 combined records.

Taylor has played two 3A schools and 2 4A schools with a combined record at, 7-9 setting and Davenport’s teams played are sporting an, 8-7 record.

All schools have different strings of games when looking further into the minutia and with that taken into context, Canyon Lake  comes away with a tougher set of games.

When counting records for this upcoming week of games the records of those 5 games are below:

CL Hawks Marble Falls Lampasas
12-8 (2)4A (2)5A (1)6A 11-9 (2)4A (3)5A 9-10 (1)3A (1)4A (3)5A

Burnet Davenport Taylor
12-8 (2)3A (3)4A 10-9 (1)4A (4)5A 8-12 (3)3A (2)4A

A better snap shot of what could be in store for this year’s district race.

Does scheduling a tougher or easier schedule make a difference?

Time will tell but Canyon Lake will be voting in favor of playing a tougher schedule for this season.

Go Hawks!!
