Freshman Hawks Get Defensive in Win over JFK, 22-0
Hawk Freshman get defensive, (33) Leo Ehrich, (71) Rowdy Hrncirik, (56) Caleb Nidever, (53) Will Crisp, and (28) Brayden Sullivan. Way to Go Lake!
The Hawk Freshman showed that their 2nd quarter would be enough to be successful enough to add a defensive act after a shut-out over JFK Freshman, 22-0.

This game was presented with a hefty wind which made this win a short pass and run variety and with a contribution of another stout Hawk Defense that helped put another game in the win column.
QB Damon Garcia RPO(ed) himself reaching 113 yards rushing along in finding receivers, Dario Faz, Brayden Sullivan, and Kobe Halverson for 107 yards that would prove to be enough for their first district victim.
Those 22 points in this 2nd quarter win had The Lake needing 10 plays to score that first touchdown when Garcia found Halverson for a 45 yard completion.
On that first score, Canyon Lake, had a 4th down and 20 yards needed and then Halverson found a midfield seam for the catch and score, 8-0.

Then the Lake would surprise these Rockets with a successful onside kick putting CL’s offense back in business. This drive would have two plays starting with a 13 yard pass with that same combo that scored, Garcia to Halverson to the 25 yard line…then a Garcia 25 yard run to pay dirt, 16-0.
Hawk’s Defense kept up the pressure forcing 2 negative plays capitalized by a Rowdy Hrncirik sack resulting in a (not) wind aided 6 yard punt.
The Lake would use 5 plays to cover 36 yards in what would be a final score by Garcia and 22-0 win.
CL’s defense controlled with Hrncirik (already mentioned), William Crisp, and Luciano Altamirano who all set up residences in the Rockets backfield.
These Hawks will be back in action next Thursday at the Hawk Nest against the Billie Goats.
