Volleyball: Hawks Green Team Salvage tough Night with Blanco

CL Hawk’s Green Volleyball team come out of their time-out after trailing, 9-2 and blitzed Blanco for a resounding, 25-14 win.  Outscoring the Visitors, 23-5 for a team win.

Canyon Lake’s Varsity was just not able to climb the hill for a victory after losing those first two sets by identical, 22-25 scores. These two sets CL would only get to within 1 point of tying the score only to be turned back by BHS.

                 Stay in Shape Hawks!

That 3rd set, The Lake, was able to take the lead, 18-17 and then outscored the Panthers, 7-3 for CL’s only win on this night.

But, there would be no momentum for that deciding set after being tied at 15 all it went downhill fast with the visitors finishing with a 10-2 run and that deciding set.

Huntleigh Morast led this game with 11 kills and then the threesome of Kira Cummings, Kylie Rodriguez, and Chloe Gray each finished with 22 digs.

Makenna Lightcap continues her strong play at the net with 3 blocks along with Chloe Gray’s 34 assists as she continues her upward climb in this category.

HAWK GREEN BEAT  BLANCO, 2-1

It was the Hawk Green team that was able to salvage this night after an on and off evening and being lucky for Canyon Lake to getting back on again at the right time for an impressive comeback win during that final set and winning with a,  2-1 victory.

Tea Gonzalez & Kelsey Unrue were unruly in beating Blanco. Go Hawks!!

This Green group of ladies have a good service up and down the rotation and that was the main calling card after starting this game with a dominating, 25-15 first set win.

Cameron Parker started on fire with two aces which helped these Hawks score the first 5 points during this set. That lead would never be threatened as these Panthers were able to get just one 2 point service rally which came on their last rotation before Tea Gonzalez served an ace and a Blanco error to end that first salvo.

But….whatever happened on that first go round would not present itself in that second set with that same type of dominance.

The Lake was able to give themselves a chance to put the contest on a sweep category but these Panthers pulled it out winning, 25-27 leaving one more set to have pronounce a winner.

Blanco was not shooting blanks to start this final set after their opening service was able to jump out to an, 8-1 advantage. That was when Kelsey Unrue(y) became unruly to the visitors when she and the Hawk ladies were able to score 9 straight points which helped put CL Green in a position for a win.

                     Way to Go Hawks!!

This Green team had a, 13-11 lead when CL’s next server Irelynn Reyes had a 7 service rally (3 aces) that all but buried Blanco as that brought the lead to a doable, 20-12 score.

Gonzalez would be the second part of this dual as she finished with 10 total kills and 4 of those during that final blitz.

CL Green ended this game with the win, 25-14 and with those serves were able to turn the tables on Blanco for this hard fought victory.

Canyon Lake ‘Hawk’ Proud!!

This was a good-bad-good night which always helps to end any contest by being good for a win with those two set wins totaling 10 aces

Way to GO LAKE!!
