CL Hawk Freshman Dismantle Uvalde, 27-0

Canyon Lake’s Freshman squad was efficient in their, 27-0 win over Uvalde after securing a 20-0 halftime lead and cruising with a resounding victory as this season turned their final corner with 2 games remaining after a bye upcoming week.
Way to Go Hawks!!
The consistency of Running Back Brayden Sullivan (97 yards) and an improving offensive line that bode’s well for a successful future this high school squad.
In starting this battle, the Hawk’s defense set the stage holding Uvalde to negative yardage and a punt.
CL’s offense then crafted a 10 play drive covering 64 yards using a triad of Hawks, Sullivan rushing for 25 yards, Dario Fax receiving and rushing for 19 yards, and QB Damon Garcia’s 19 yards rushing and 13 passing yards.
Sullivan had the honors finishing this drive scoring on his 7 yard rushing play and Hawk, 6-0 lead.
Another Lake scoring drive, this time using two plays, after their short field being set up after an interception and needing 22 yards to cash in for that, 14-0 lead when Garcia scampered 13 yards for that score.
After another defensive stop, CL’s Freshman would need only 4 plays for their next score when Kobe Halverson found the end-zone finding room down the left sideline leaving one minute on the halftime clock and Hawk, 20-0 lead.

That score had a pat that was left short off the shoe of John Fitzharris but that miss would turn out to be rectified on The Lake’s next score which would be the first extra point kick this season. (See improvement in all facets of CL’s game)
It was Fitzharris that had an interception that helped set up CL’s final score during the 4th quarter with his successful pat.
That final Hawk drive had 13 plays covering 70 yards which was highlighted with a Dario 28 yard run/17 and 19 yard receptions which set up a Canyon Buchmann 7 yard score and Hawk, 27-0 win.
Canyon Lake Freshman will have a bye next week before traveling to Davenport for their last road game this season.
