Lady Hawks: State Track Meet Thursday

Lake’s Ladies Track & Field contingent will get going this Thursday as there are several running events in play as this season will end once again in Austin.

This will be a stiff climb as there are some great times that were recorded around the state and the times during the Region IV had some strong winds in each of the events that The Lake qualified.

Senior Hannah Hammer will represent Canyon Lake in the 1600 meter run and Junior Aubrey Avey has excelled in the 300 meter hurdles.

The Hawks will have two Relay teams entered with the 4×100 & 4×200 relays.

4×100 Relay will feature: Avey, Te’a Gonzales, Abigail Lowth, and Savanna Oberholtzer.

4×200 Relay will feature: Oberholtzer, Gonzales, Lowth, and Shana Cutrer.

                    Way to Go FAST Hawks!!

This will be the third year where a Lady Hawk will be running in the 1600 meter run as Cadence Patterson (running for Houston University) ran those first two seasons.

A shout out to Ayren Lightfoot who was disqualified in her prelim 400 meter dash where she won this event but had left her lane for a short period which left her without a chance to best her time running in Austin last year.

The Kingsville Region Meet has claimed a lot of previous Hawks from reaching State as it had been a killing field for many years.

This will be the largest (in numbers) to reach this ultimate final meet with 6 ladies ready to make The Lake Nation Proud.
