Hawk’s, 45-37 Win Over Bastrop Leads to Satisfying High Noon Pizza

Canyon Lake got an All-Meat at High Noon Pizza in the Hancock Plaza after their win over Bastrop, 45-37.
The Lake had laid a Gluten Free Pizza in their previous Burnet contest on Tuesday and knew that those type of efforts lead to an empty stomach.
This win still had some ups & downs but good times were enough to get this win with another game of double digit steals (13) which has CL averaging 14 for this season.
Cole Dees and Phoenix Fuentes both led the Hawks finishing with 12 points and a strong game for Eli Hammons with his 6 points and 9 rebounds.
Those Up times had The Lake opening up with an, 8-2 lead that got thing going before a Down episode when the Bastrop Bears worked this game back to a tie, 17 all at the 1:24 mark before half.
Canyon Lake would open the second half with an improved focus after running their lead to 9 points, 29-20 at the 4:00 minute mark in the 3rd stanza.
But another Gluten Free episode to end that quarter resulted in a, 31-30 advantage going into CL’s final quarter.
That 4th quarter had a rare event when Fuentes found himself on the charity stripe with 5:31 left in the contest. It had been 7 straight quarters of not having a chance for a free throw finally being realized.
The Lake would finish with 7 made free throws while adding a 3 pointer coming from Cole Dees and assist by Fuentes which would result in a, 40-32 lead with a little under 4 minutes remaining. Dees’ with that 3 pointer ended with 6 points in that final 8 minutes.
A good defensive effort allowing 7 points that helped Canyon Lake to rid themselves of that Gluten Free Pizza to a good tasty regular Pizza whether by the Slice or whatever size needed for this filling win.
