Way to make some Good Hits!

Canyon Lake Baseball’e Tourney was a 4 game sweep that had The Lake outscoring their opponents, 47-12 that showed how much depth a school has on the pitching mound which especially shows in those later contests.

CLHS outscored Giddings & Long Creek, 24-8 and on the defensive side, The Lake, had no errors on Saturday and finished with just 3 miscues during these games…while 9 errors were committed by CL’s opponents.

CLake still has a walking problem for the pitchers but some timely double plays and working out of jams let to 9 unearned runs.

CL’s pitchers issued 18 base-on-balls while striking out 16 players with different uniforms. Those free passes will lead to some losses when district gets going.

                                   Way to GO LAKE!

Lucas Schexnayder broke out of his slump that had one hit in his first 5 games with 6 hits that has a 4 game hitting streak with 3 doubles and 4 rbi’s.

Wayen Slania-Wertz continued his strong batting cashing in getting on base in all but one game this campaign matching Carson Walker with 12 rbi’s these past two weeks leading the team.

Cullen Barnhart (10) along with Walker (11) have both reached double digit hits while Hayes Holladay leads the team with 4 doubles while has missed reaching base in just one contest thus far.

Canyon Lake will be feasting with another home tournament this week in the Comal Clash.
The Hawks will start with Marble Falls at 11am this Thursday and will end that day playing Beeville with first pitch 5pm.

Friday will be another two-till day facing Holladay 3:40pm and then Corpus Christi Moody 5:00pm.

Canyon Lake’s last game was with Long Creek who plays in the same district which has the box score below.

It was a game that showed some promise when Gavyn Baldera and Greysen Patton both left the yard with their hits in this game.
