                   Congrats Lake Soccer!

Canyon Lake Ladies’ Soccer (19-2) start their next phase of the season when they welcome Legacy Ranch (17-3-1) to the Hawk Nest on Friday for a Bi-District contest with first kick at 6:30pm.

Legacy Ranch was a Canyon Lake opponent last year as district second seed behind Wimberley’s 1st seed finish which added more familiarities with this first round contest.

Post-Season has also been a familiar happening for The Lake as they have been active for five years now in getting to a 3rd round. The Lake has an, 8-5 record, during this run, but there is one facet of a post-season having one familiarity to be jettisoned during this campaign.

The Lake has not been able to clear that 3rd hurdle on their march for a final 4 destination. Four of those last five years, The Lake, has finished their season in that 3rd round play-off game.

Year Bi-District Area Semi-Regional
2021 Gateway 3-1 Pleasanton 2-1 Boerne 1-7
2022 Montopolis 7-1 Jones 6-1 Boerne 1-2
2024 Burnet 1-0 JFK 8-0 Davenport 2-5
2025 Legacy 6-1 Floresville 5-1 London 1-2
2026 Legacy ???

The Lake’s loss against Davenport kept that elusive District Championship Ring from happening but that bigger prize is certainly still out there to grasp.

                       Let’s Go Hawks!

“The loss to Davenport is a humble reminder that we have to work hard for every win.” Head Coach Kara Stracener stated. “We will use it to fuel us to be better for this next game.”

Which will be a home game giving, The Hawk Nation,  a chance to show their support for one of the best season’s of any Hawk sport in the last 26 years.

On facing a familiar opponent and what has been The Lake’s approach after a week of rest Coach Stracener quoted, “We knew right away we would be facing Legacy Ranch…we have gone back to a few basics to review some things that we need to improve on for this game and then some specifics on how to attack and defend them.”

                     Break the Dam~ Lake!

A new school at Liberty Hill that has put good seasons together in their short span. The Ranch won their district with their only set-back coming in a tie with Burnet. This team has a lot of fire power as they have scored 111 goals this season.

Legacy Ranch played a high ranking team to start this season losing to Life Waxahachie, 2-6 but playing in a district that has 11 schools does not allow teams to play more out of district foes.

On Coaches thoughts on how this regular season went.  “I’m so proud of this team.  To only have two losses on the season and both to teams that were at the state Tournament last year is very impressive.  The girls are hungry and ready to play tomorrow.”

The Lake’s district has proven they can reach the final four and now getting past that 3rd playoff opponent would go a long way to realize that same dream.

So those familiarities has a chance to continue as the UIL Brackets has those same schools that The Lake played last year.

Last season Canyon Lake tied Wimberley twice and that next step happened this year after beating the Texans at their abode which certainly gives hope legs for that bigger prize.

Some come out tomorrow for Canyon Lake’s opening act to reach past a familiar goal to a higher goal.

Let’s GO LAKE!
