Canyon Lake did not have an awesome week but there were some wins on their schedule and hopefully this week will have more of those ‘Ws’ in the offing.
The Volleyball team will start District 26-4A play this week and you can go to the Standings article posted on Sunday to get a prelude for this year’s team there.
CL’s Football team will have to turn it around fast as they are still licking their wounds after an offensive battle last Friday.
The Good News is that the offense has officially found there legs as their 499 yards of offense was more than the first two games combined to start the season.
The Bad News is on the defensive side of the ball as the Hawk’s also more gave up more yardage in that one game than the two previous outings.
Wimberley will be entering this game with a 0-3 record and Canyon Lake will not want to be the first game the Texans win.
The Hawks won the last home game with Wimberley and hopefully that omen will be repeated.
Those Sub-Varsity teams both support winning records and a game with Wimberley will be pivotable for how these players will continue the year when district starts in 3 weeks.
That Freshman team should be a must see for Hawk fans as the future looks bright as two of those freshman players have already made the jump to varsity.
Jacob Ruff and Austin Rodriguez will be the first of many more as this age group starts to age.
This year’s JV team has already graduated several Sophomores to Varsity and that bodes well for future Hawk games.
Cross Country will be running in Fredericksburg and this group of students will continue to work on their PR’s as they stride into their district race next month.
Bracken had the rug swept away as they fell with a thud after a rude awakening to another young team and seeing how they can get their game back on track will be paramount as the Warriors will also have their first road game at San Antonio The Winston this Friday.
Another week where you can come back to this site and check on how the teams did during the week.
Go Hawks & Warriors!!!
