The Mountain Valley 8th Grade “B” team made a heroic effort, coming back with 13 points in the fourth quarter to tie the Boerne Greyhounds last Thursday night at the Hawk Stadium.

The “B” Team had been in a slumber for most of the game, until the light came on in the fourth quarter and the Hawk “B” team rallied to tie the score.

The “B” squad was given the opportunity with timely interception and holding the Greyhounds, as running back Josh Devries scored with six seconds left in the game. The point-after attempt was not successful, leaving the game with that bad taste in your mouth.

The Mountain Valley 8th Grade “A” team lost 6-36 in the night cap.

The injury bug has hit the “A” team, as the offense and defense were not effective in moving or on stopping the Greyhounds.

The only score was with more than three minutes left in the game.

Boerne had lost 31 yards on two straight plays, the last one a fumble that was recovered on the Boerne 1-yard line.

Hayden Dubois got the honors and bulled over the goal line from 1 yard out, scoring the only points in the game for the good guys.
