“CLEAR”! Hawks Miss Bus with Boerne and Lose, 68-39

  Go Hawks!!

Canyon Lake’s Bus was seen at Boerne High School for their final District 28-4A contest, however, the players did not get off the bus as the Hawks laid an egg in their loss to the Greyhounds, 68-39.

CL will now wait for Wimberley and Navarro to decide which team will play the Hawks as these two schools will have a playoff this Friday in New Braunfels to decide the 1st and 2nd seed for District 27-4A.

The Hawks will have the loser of that contest and they will have the Bi-District contest next Tuesday.

Repeat-Boutique Says Go Hawks and Repeat Winning

Meanwhile, CL will have to check their pulse for a beat before next week’s game in order to put a decent try for a win.

This was not a good way to end a season as there was no player that had a double digit scoring night. With a cold night shooting, Canyon Lake, had dismal first and third quarters as the Greyhounds were lapping the low flying Hawks to the finish line.

Those two quarters had the home team with a 30 point advantage as the dead on arrival Comal Bus was looking up at a 15 point deficit after that first stanza of action.

Well, action might be too strong of a word as only one team actually having any action.

The ReSporter, took 5 of the Hawk players before the season started to see how the output would be per game when adding up the points by these players.

That group of players combined for 13 total points with all 5 of these players suited up. A 21 point effort was the previous low for the season during a Hawk victory over Lockhart before the Christmas Break.

Not a lot of good things to mention with this affair as the Hawks rebounded with 25 turnovers and had an anemic 5 assists for the game.

Their three-point shot was successful for 19% of the shots while the 2 pointer was not much improvement with a resounding 25% of those shots finding the bottom of the net.

Now it will be time to see if Canyon Lake can find a defibrillator in time before next Tuesday’s first round of playoff’s so the Hawks can improve on last year’s first time in the, win or go home, portion of the season.
