CL Hawks Rebound after Texan Loss, Beating Jefferson & Pearsall

Canyon Lake accomplished getting that bad taste out of their mouths after starting the season with a loss to Wimberley. On Thursday at Huber Ranch, the Hawks, outscored their two opponents, 35-0 as CL left no prisoners.
Pearsall and Jefferson were the two schools taking the brunt of CL’s bad mood as both games were stopped after the 2nd and 3rd innings respectfully.
Some good signs as Maddy Puente and Lauren Mentzer both had home-runs in the second game and Puente’s had an exclamation point with a grand slam.
There were 3 doubles hit in the shortened game giving a glimpse of some major league power in the offing.
Mentzer was also gave up just one walk in her game while striking out 6 of the 9 outs recorded.

With all of that offensive fire power, Canyon Lake, was able to cut there errors down to one, but when you have a pitcher that is striking out the opponent, that stat still might need some sharpening for future games.
Canyon Lake will have 2 games starting at 9am and 11am on Friday in hopes of continuing their new leaf on life after that goose egg of a game playing in Wimberley on Tuesday.
The team is batting at a .435 clip for the first 3 contests as there does not seem to be many weak links early in the schedule games played this week.
Cuero and Luling will be up next and these two schools will give some stiffer competition as Canyon Lake continues to work on seeing how and who will jump out and take command on getting playing time as District 28-4A comes calling later in March.
