What a busy week of activity coming up for the Hawk Nation but first a recap of last week’s action.
Softball started for real with two losses but a good finish in the Navarro Tournament when the Hawks placed 2nd in a tourney that had 24 schools present.
The last win over Yoakum had some good pay back with a two year district partner that had CL’s number with 4 close losses. A, 16-1 win was good indicator for what could be a special season for a crew of ladies that might have a chance of jelling and having a chance for making the playoffs. Which has been a goal that has not come to fruition since the 2011 season.
Boy’s Soccer split their first two district games with a close loss to Boerne and then a win over Wimberley, which is always a good way to start your week-end.
The Ladies Soccer had two close losses and will look to rebound with a semi-must win against Bandera on the road this coming Tuesday.
Baseball finished their scrimmages with a well played game against Marion on Friday night. The Hawks got to see a lot of pitching which will be the focal point with the new rules that have come into play for this season.
Track & Field hosted 14 schools this past Saturday and had some impressive results as the season will have their next meet this next Saturday in Hays High School.
Canyon Lake High School will be focused on the Basketball team as this has been a year of firsts for the round-ball crew. The first winning season with a chance of going more than one round in the playoffs.
The Hawks will take flight to Canyon High School on Tuesday for a 7pm tip-off against the Navarro Panthers. CL lost to Navarro earlier in the season with that loss coming on the road.
Will Canyon Lake get off the bus for this game is the question that will need to be answered. In their last game with Boerne, the Hawks, did not wake up for the contest and they were not very good sleep walkers in the loss.
A literal rebound will be needed as another bad game will not give your Hawks a chance in scheduling any additional games in the win or go home time of the year.
The Canyon Lake Broadcasting network will be dialed in starting at 6:30pm for the 7pm tip-off. A short drive to New Braunfels to see Canyon Lake in their 2nd year in a row playoff game. A good time to support a group of deserving athletes.
Every day will have a Hawk team in action from Golf to Tennis and every thing else that pertains to competition in between.
