Canyon Lake Volleyball Swept the Marion Bulldogs on Tuesday as the Freshman and JV continuedtheir strong season while CL’s Varsity improved their record to a sparkling, 14-5.
This week a date at Johnson City and then one of the better teams to visit the Hawk Nest when the Navarro Panthers come to town for a good test to see where Canyon Lake resides as the district season will start later this month.
CL’s JV won in two games, 25-15 and 25-20….while the Hawk Freshman were also in good form winning two in the best of three format, 25-14 and 25-17.
Canyon Lake’s Football squad took care of Blanco for the 2nd year in a row with a shut-out, 38-0.
The Hawks now have 2 shut-outs since games started 10 years ago and both of those games have come in the past two years.
With a 24 point lead at half-time, Canyon Lake came out and had two more scores for the win while the Panthers were in the Haw’s Red Zone just once and that drive was stopped by a turnover.
Every facet of this game was in CL’s favor as the last two years has the Hawks outscoring Blanco, 78-7.
This week the games from Sub-Varsity to Varsity have been moved up to Wednesday and Thursday night starts.
The Sub-Varsity Hawks will both be home for this battle on Wednesday and the Varsity will be on the road to Austin as they will try to improve to a 2-0 record.
Reagan was beaten last week by Burnet and will be looking for some footing as this season is still in the early stages and this Raider team will be another good challenge for Canyon Lake.
Go Hawks!!
