CL Hawks Beat Center Point Pirates, 43-30

Canyon Lake won a winnable game as they start preparing for a tough District 28-4A schedule beginning next week as they took care of Center Point, 43-30.

Zack Taliaferro (13) and Parker Mott (12) both hit double digit scoring while Jarred Rollins cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds in this win.
Taliaferro had a good all-around game with 5 assists and 6 steals to cap off this contest.
As a team, Canyon Lake almost doubled CP’s with 41 rebounds and 19 of those boards came on the offensive side of the court, while scoring 15 points off of turnovers. The Hawks handled the ball well with just 10 turnovers.
Canyon Lake increased there lead throughout the contest as their largest lead was 18 points going into the 4th quarter. Not a good shooting night and CL will need to get that part of their game going with two more non-district contests to work on their game.
The Hawks will face Navarro this Friday and then welcome Wimberley on Tuesday January 11th as they prepare for those games that will have more riding on them in district.
