Canyon Lake will be in action for another week before Spring Break comes calling. Baseball will be the main sport going strong during the Spring Break period.
Last week saw the Baseball team winning more games and passing last year’s total and will host Johnson City on Monday before going to Somerset for another tournament. The Junior Varsity will be in action at Canyon High School.
Softball had another good week after starting their year with an 8 game losing streak. That gap has been closed and the Lady Hawks will play Wimberley on Tuesday at their place starting at 5pm with the Junior Varsity.
CL’s Softball will take a long break and have a planned Alumni Game on St. Patrick’s Day. Then District 28-4A will get going that next week.
Soccer is in their last round robin of games and both the Boys and Girls will both go to the Playoffs this year as that trend of every sport making the playoffs continues.
Track & Field had another knock-out day with 3 of the 4 teams won their Meet. CL’s Varsity lost out by just 12 points of claiming a Hawk sweep in Navarro last Saturday’s Panther Relays.
There is some serious athletes that keep raising the bar this year as there has yet to be a Hawk Track team to finish below a 3rd place finish. This group will be in Bandera on Wednesday for their last meet before a Spring Break break. (I liked typing that)
The Cinder students will be back in action in Wimberley on a Thursday which is a short drive for the Canyon Lake faithful to see some great races and field events.
Their District 28-4A Meet will begin during the middle part of April and hopefully getting in a position to make some more Canyon Lake History for the Sports department.
Go Hawks!!
