          Way to Go Hawks!!

The School and Sport’s World is starting to shrink as we get near the end of April.

This has been, by far, the best year in CL’s history and this week will still have some good nights at the Hawk Nest to see some good entertainment.

Track & Field will get the first kudos, after the Girls finished 2nd and the Boy’s took the District Crown last week in Fredericksburg.

An exciting night as that Championship was the 3rd this school year with a chance of seeing if that number can reach 4 for the Softball team.

Wimberley will be a short drive to see some great athletes take to the cinders for a chance to qualify for Region Meet starting, April 27th and running two days.

Both Varsity and Junior Varsity finished 2nd behind a deep Fredericksburg Ladies team. There just was not enough Lady Hawks to match scoring points in all 18 events. That still did not deter this year’s Ladies Track after a good day and qualifying 11 for a trip to Wimberley for that next round of competition.

CL’s Boys Track & Field beat the Billies by 3 points, as they overtook Freddie after winning the 4×400 meter relay that helped elevate Canyon Lake to the top of the heap. Make the short drive to Wimberley and help cheer on this group of students who represent the Hawk Nation with class.

        Way to Go Canyon Lake!!

For the fans who are into diamonds, there will be two games that will be worth a chance of seeing some good games involving a soft and base ball.

Softball will have a date against Freddie and if Canyon Lake can win, then they would become that 4th team with a Championship Trophy.

It will be Parent’s Night and the last home game for this season. The Hawks will have their work cut out for them as Fredericksburg has not lost since their first game that was played at Fredericksburg’s home field and a Hawk win, 8-5.

If the Billies can pull out a win, then a one game playoff would take place after the season if both teams win or lose their last contest. CL will finish with a game against Bandera and Freddie will meet up with Boerne for their final battle.

So, there is still a lot on the table but a win would clear that part of the table where you can put a Trophy.

          Keep Going Hawks!!

Baseball has an important date on Friday when Hondo makes their trip to the hill country with the winner taking the series that is presently tied at one game a piece.

A Canyon Lake win would put your Hawks in a position to finish as the 3rd seeded team. The Baseball schedule now has all the teams playing their final game of those 3 game series.

The Hawks win, last week, over Bandera accomplish the first series win but the qualifying number for ordering T-Shirts will come when a Bulldog loss or Hawk win that adds up to 2 that would finish the year where every CL team making T-Shirts for playoff action.

This would be a good time to come and see a deserving team go to battle with Hondo and take 2 series and get a better first round team in the playoffs.

Way to Go Hawks!!!
